We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Analyst to join our hospital’s finance team. The ideal candidate should possess an accounting degree and have at least 5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis within the healthcare industry. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a vital role in providing strategic financial insights, budgeting, forecasting, and conducting financial analysis to support the hospital’s financial decision-making processes.
- Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis of the hospital’s financial performance, including revenue, expenses, profitability, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with various departments to develop and monitor annual budgets, as well as assist in creating accurate financial forecasts and projections.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare comprehensive financial reports and dashboards to present to senior management, highlighting key findings and recommending actionable insights.
- Cost Control and Efficiency: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements within the hospital’s operations while maintaining high-quality patient care.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making related to capital investments, new projects, and other financial initiatives.
- Revenue Cycle Analysis: Analyze the hospital’s revenue cycle to identify areas for improvement in billing, collections, and reimbursement processes.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Ensure financial data accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations. Assist in preparing for external audits.
- Variance Analysis: Monitor and analyze financial performance against budgeted targets, identifying and explaining significant variances.
- Trend Analysis: Analyze financial trends and market conditions to provide insights into potential opportunities and risks affecting the hospital’s financial position.
- Financial Planning: Collaborate with the finance team to develop long-term financial plans and strategic initiatives aligned with the hospital’s mission and goals.
- Decision Support: Provide financial insights and recommendations to support various decision-making processes, such as pricing strategies and service line expansions.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Participate in special financial projects and initiatives as assigned by the finance leadership team.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA) would be advantageous.
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, preferably within a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or healthcare system.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with complex financial data to derive meaningful insights.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL, Tableau, etc.).
- Solid understanding of healthcare financial operations, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Familiarity with hospital information systems and financial management software is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) would be a plus.
